What to do after a long run...EAT!

That's right! It's very important for muscle recovery to eat right after your run! Runners World says its just as good to eat chocolate chip cookies and milk, which is one of my favorites. However, if you are going for a loooonnnngg run, that may not be so filling. Especially if you are coming back in time for lunch. I have a simple, nutrious, and yummy soloution that takes very little work and will have you eating in less that 15 minutes!
Smoked BBQ Salmon, it was very simple and tasty!
2 main items needed: BBQ Salmon from SeaPak and square Cedar planks for the Smokin' (see pictures below).
Step 1: Let both the fish and cedar soak in water for 1 hr (prep before the run)
Step 2: Preheat grill at 350, heat the cedar for 3 mins, flip, and add your Salmon(cook time 10 mins).
Step 3: Enjoy with a salad and a Coca-Cola!

  1. Looks delicious! Where did you buy this stuff? Are the planks reusable? Do you soak the planks and salmon together? You know me...full of questions! HA!

  2. I bought the bbq salmon at Wal-Mart, VERY TASTY, especially smoked. The first time I bought a pack of these I grilled them without the cedar planks. The smoked cedar makes the flavor that much better! I bought the small planks at another market, I can probably help get you some if you can't find them locally. They came in a pack of 4 for about $9.99. I think I found out they are not reusable, or it's just my grill and where I grilled them on the grill. The bottom of the plank was totatly charred. And the salmon comes in a plastic wrap, pre-marinated, so I put the salmon and plank in the same bowl of water! Hope you can try it soon!
